CarePump care, cleaning and maintenance

CarePump units need very little maintenance when used as intended. These tips are based on the manufacturer’s user manuals.

Cleaning the unit

• Wipe dust and dirt off the unit with a soft linen cloth.
• For harder stains, use a damp sponge with a cleaning liquid based on water and alcohol (20% alcohol).
• Only use a dry cloth around the power input, safety button socket and ventilation holes.
• Clean the touch screen regularly with a cloth and a screen cleaning fluid.
• Always disconnect the unit from the power before cleaning.

Looking after the cuffs

• Keep the cuffs clean.
• Wear thin clothing under the cuffs rather than placing them on bare skin. In clinics, disposable foil inserts are a hygienic option.
• Do not store cuffs near sharp objects, or in wet, sunny or hot places.
• Keep cuffs away from oil, petrol, alcohol and corrosive chemicals.
• Do not bend or kink the air tubes.

Storage and transport

• Store and transport the unit in its original box with the foam inserts.
• Recommended storage conditions: -5 to 40 degrees C and 15 to 93% relative humidity.
• Use the unit indoors at 0 to 40 degrees C, on a stable surface, out of direct sunlight and away from heaters.

Servicing

• The manufacturer recommends a check by an authorised service centre about every 12 months.
• If the unit is damaged or does not work properly, stop using it and contact OMED.
• Repairs must only be done by the manufacturer or an authorised service centre. Unauthorised repairs may void the warranty.

Disposal

CarePump units are electronic equipment. At the end of their life, take them to an electronic waste collection point.
